Kirkstall Valley Farm
This is an ongoing project for Kirkstall Valley Farm. I was asked to update some of their marketing materials starting with promotional flyers for their veg box scheme. I am also working on banner designs for their market stalls as well as event posters.
I was given creative freedom to update the designs and I am working on creating a more professional feel without losing the natural, sustainable focus of the farm. As the farm is community oriented I wanted to tie the designs to the arts scene in Leeds and create work that could meld with the bold, colourful design work that can be seen in and around the city.

Original Designs
The original flyer design had little harmony and felt cluttered. My primary aims were to create a more visually appealing design, simplify the content and create a clearer, more readable layout for the type in particular.

Flyer Front
I created two colour options for the team to choose from. The first was more directly inspired by the Leeds arts scene and aimed to grab attention. As a mail out flyer I felt it was key to create something striking that wouldn't be immediately thrown out as bland marketing material.
The second colour way is more simple and earthy and better reflects the farm's ethos. The veg boxes attract members across a wide age range and I believe the less saturated colour scheme will appeal to a broader demographic compared to the more trendy, youthful scheme of option one.
