Wedding Invites
In 2023 I was commissioned to design invites to an intimate wedding in a Canadian national forest. The client requested that the invites incorporate natural influences to reflect the setting as well as a western, cowboy theme.

Client Moodboard

Concept Sketches
The client initially wanted an intimate feel, with hand written type and illustration. However they later moved towards a blend of illustration and a more graphic style for the type. From the initial concepts they were excited about option 2 but decided against the postcard format and opted for a simple, central layout.
Front Cover
The client requested the invites be able to serve as art that guests could frame so we kept the front cover purely visual. Based on the mood-board I created a symmetrical, folk art inspired design with detailed floral illustration. The fire pit ceremony in the centre features portraits of the brides.
Back Cover
We moved away from hand written text however I wanted to keep the medieval folk art influences found in the moodboard. To achieve this I incorporated the medieval inspired centre symbol and used display font that would evoke these influences while still feeling modern. The final design and layout was edited to include more private information which cannot be displayed.
